lip tattoo aftercare
Day 1 until the scabs have come off (approx 4 days)
You may be swollen and possibly bruised - you may ice in a zip lock back to soothe
If you are prone to coldsores, it is recommended that you speak to your chemist about antiviral tablets
Moisturise as much as possible with a thin layer of the balm. If you run out, you may use Paw Paw or Vaseline
Fluid may start coming from your lips - wipe them with a tissue and reapply the balm
No spicy or citrus foods as it will burn!
Don’t get the tattoo wet for prolonged periods as soggy scabs will fall off too early and will take the pigment with it
Do not pick at, bite or pull the scabs
Avoid makeup on the lips - coloured lip balm, lip liner & lipstick
Do not get facials or filler for at least 2 weeks after
After the scabs have come off
The tattoo may appear light - it may around 4 weeks for the colour to come back.
Depending on your skin type and aftercare you may need a touch up in 5-8 weeks
Longevity
Do not get laser or IPL in the area
Avoid direct sun exposure, strong skincare products (salicylic & glycolic acid, retinol/vitamin A) and facials in that area
Your tattoo will last 1-3 years before needing a touch up, dependent on your lifestyle and aftercare
